In the summer of 1974, John and Judy Luchkovitz moved their family from southern California to Lake Orion, Michigan. They had a dream to open a produce market and began by selling fruits and vegetables from a small roadside stand in town. A few months later, in November of that same year, they purchased a building in the downtown, historic district and "Lucky's Produce, Plants, and Flowers" was born.
Almost 50 years later, our location is still the same, but many things have changed along the way. Our name was changed to Lucky's Natural Foods to reflect the shift from fresh produce to more grocery items, vitamins, and herbs to better serve our customers' needs. In 1993, John and Judy's oldest daughter, Tanya, purchased the business and has continued the family tradition, along with occasional help from her own children and grandchildren. And in the last five years, our building has undergone vast renovations in order to continue to grow and adapt to our ever-changing community - though nothing could make us change our original wood floors!
Today, our focus for Lucky's Natural Foods is to continue to provide exceptional products, customer service, and knowledge of health and healthy living to our community. Thank you to our loyal customers, both old and new, for your continued support over the years. We hope there are many more to come!
